Discover Vernon Hill Racing

Vernon Hill Racing was founded in 1978 when Vernon Hill began racing a 1957 Chevy in the Stock Class. From there he continued to race several different divisions like Super Stocks, Modifieds (1989-1999, 2002-2007, 2009-2011, 2016-Present) Late Models (1987, 2000-2001, 2008-2010, 2019-2020, 2022-Present) Midwest Modifieds (2010-2011), and Sprint Cars (2012-2014). Over the span of his ongoing career, Vernon Sr has been able to total over 200 feature wins, and multiple track and state championships.

Vernon Hill Sr grew up around racing as his older and younger siblings took part in racing the Stock class as he was growing up. It became a family activity at an early point in time and has stuck ever sense. Vernon Hill Jr was around racing and it’s behind the scenes details at a young age. His racing career was set to begin in 2013 in a Sprint Car at the age of 12.

As final preparations were being made, it became noted that the Sanctioning Bodies Insurance Company would not allow him to participate at such age. This then sidelined his debut until a later date. Fast forward to 2016, where he completed his first race in an IMCA Modified. As for Vernon Jr, his father (Vernon Hill) was the role model that he learned and established his passion for Motorsports. Ever since Vernon Jr was a toddler, he was in the shop, as well as going to the racetrack to learn what it takes to not only compete, but to put in the work that it takes to give any form of Motorsports 110%.

Both Vernon and Vernon Jr enjoy the father and son bond that they have established in the competitive sport of Dirt Track Racing. Racing is one of the most family-based sports that we have the pleasure of having today, and Vernon Hill Racing is a family-oriented team, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
